Chrome new light weight Operating System ( OS ) from LG :-)

LG has unveiled the Chromebase, a 21.5in all-in-one desktop running Chrome OS.

The Chromebase is LG's first step into the lightweight OS, with the company expanding its partnership with Google beyond the Nexus 5 smartphone.

It will also give Samsung's Chromebox a run for its money, being the only other PC to run Chrome OS on the desktop.

The LG Chromebase features an IPS display with a screen resolution of 1,920 x 1,080. Other than the form factor, the Chromebase's hardware is very similar to other, recent Chrome OS devices.

Housed beneath the screen is an Intel Celeron processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB SSD. There's also an HDMI port, three USB 2 slots, a single USB 3 port and an Ethernet port. A 1.3-megapixel webcam and a microphone integrated are integrated into the casing.

There are additional accessories available, such as a keyboard, mouse and a cable tidy.

LG is targeting the Chromebase at businesses and schools, rather than individuals. It hasn't said how much it will cost or when it will be available in the UK, but expects to show off the device at CES in January.
