Search engine giant Google is reportedly planning to release its recently unveiled Nexus 7 (2013 version) tablet in India next month.
The Times of India citing sources has revealed that the new Nexus tablet would make its debut in Bengaluru and Noida, at exclusive showrooms 'AndoridLand', which is jointly owned by Google and Indian-based smartphone vendor Spice.
Adding weight to the rumours, the 2012-release Nexus 7 models have received major price-cuts at online shops in India, selling for as low as ₹9,999. This has further raised expectations that the India launch of the new Nexus 7 is just around the corner.
Google's new tablet sports a 7.02-inch IPS LCD screen with full HD 1080x1920p display resolution and pixel density of 323 ppi (pixels per inch). It comes with the latest Android v4.3 Jelly Bean OS.
Under the hood, teh device packs a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor and 400MHz Adreno 320 graphics engine. It packs 2GB RAM and comes in two storage variants -16GB and 32GB.
The second generation Nexus 7, developed by Taiwanese firm Asus and Google, was unveiled on 27 July and is already available in US, Canada and European markets. Online store Google Play (US) is selling the 16GB (Wi-Fi only) model for $229 (₹14,150), whereas the WiFi and LTE variants (32GB) cost $269 (₹16,600) and $349 (₹21,569), respectively.
